Scott Kingery Drives In Two Runs In Loss
7 years agoStarting at shortstop and batting third for the Philadelphia Phillies at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday afternoon, Scott Kingery picked up just one hit. The hit, however, came at a massively important time in the game for his club. After three Chicago runs in the fifth put the Phillies down three runs, the 24-year-old stepped into the batter’s box with two on and one out. He would promptly deliver a double to left field, driving in two runs to cut the deficit to one run. The score would remain that way, as the Phillies dropped the series finale 4-3 before beginning a weekend series with the Milwaukee Brewers.
