Saquon Barkley Limited Wednesday
3 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Barkley went down with a torn ACL and MCL in his knee in Week 2 of last year and missed the rest of the season. He was able to take part in a full-contact practice last week and appears on track to play in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, but most expect the 24-year-old to be eased back into the fold initially. That means that fantasy managers shouldn't expect a full workload for the team's top back. Devontae Booker and Gary Brightwell could see more work in the season-opener to spell Barkley. The Broncos defense was middle of the pack last year in terms of fantasy points per game allowed to running backs, but their defense as a whole is above-average and could give the Giants offense some problems. While Barkley still has outstanding upside when healthy, the matchup and his likely smaller workload make him more of a high-end RB2 this weekend than a surefire RB1.
