Saquon Barkley 2020 Outlook: Back On Track?
5 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will enter the season looking to replicate the success that he enjoyed during his rookie campaign. While his 2019 season wasn't a complete waste by any means, the 23-year-old regressed across the board but saw his most significant drop in productivity catching passes out the backfield. After catching 91 passes for 721 yards and four scores during his inaugural campaign, he brought in only 52 receptions for 438 yards and two touchdowns last year. With quarterback Daniel Jones now the clear-cut No. 1 option after the retirement of Eli Manning along with the arrival of new head coach Joe Judge--and some added help on the offensive line--Barkley has a good shot at getting back on track. A high-ankle sprain forced him to miss three games last season, so hopefully, he can stay healthy and ready to produce in 2020.
