Salvador Perez Gets A Breather Tuesday
1 year agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians. Perez is getting two days of rest after the team's off day on Monday. He went hitless in eight at-bats with three strikeouts in the last two games of a weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Freddy Fermin is doing the catching and batting ninth on Tuesday, while Edward Olivares is the designated hitter and is batting sixth against Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams. Despite a poor weekend showing against Tampa, the 33-year-old Perez remains one of the best fantasy catchers, and he's hitting .263 (73-for-278) with 15 home runs, 14 doubles, 39 RBI and 35 runs scored in 71 games this year.
