Ryan Jeffers Getting a Breather Against Royals
Ryan Jeffers will retreat to the bench on Saturday as the series continues against the division-rival Kansas City Royals at Target Field. With Jeffers resting, Christian Vazquez will do the catching for right-hander Zebby Matthews and will hit ninth against Royals right-hander Michael Wacha. Jeffers is Minnesota's primary catcher and is currently riding a modest six-game hitting streak in which he's gone 9-for-23 with a homer, two doubles, two RBI and four runs scored. Vazquez has certainly been the inferior offensive player in his time with the Twins, and the 34-year-old Puerto Rican backstop has gone just 15-for-73 (.205) with a homer, six RBI and five runs scored in 2025. Although he's hit .455 with a .910 OPS in 11 career at-bats against Wacha, we'd advice fantasy managers to look elsewhere in DFS for a catcher.
