Ryan Blaney had a bit of an up and down night at Las Vegas. All things considered, the Team Penske driver finished fifth and gained valuable playoff points. The No. 12 car was fourth after Stage 1 but 21st after Stage 2 (pit window). Blaney raced his way into the top five by the race's end and even ticked off a fast lap or two. Overall, his car was one of the fastest in the final segment (107 laps). That may be something that has some bearing going into the Talladega race (two recent wins). Either way, Blaney is having an improved playoff chase compared to the last few seasons.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
