Ross Chastain An Unknown In Arizona
5 years agoRoss Chastain has done a formidable job during his time of filling in for Ryan Newman, while Newman continues to heal from his scary accident at the end of the Daytona 500. After being thrust onto a new team, Chastain was able to finish in the top 20 last week in Fontana. His history at Phoenix International Raceway has not been the greatest, with an average finish of 26.5, but all those finishes came in a Premium Motorsports car, not the power of Roush Fenway Racing. Chastain turned the 14th-fastest lap in the first practice session on Friday, so there appears to be speed in the car. However, most owners will likely avoid Chastain as he continues to get a handle on the No. 6 car.
