Robby Snelling Strikes Out Eight Across Six Shutout Frames
Robby Snelling struck out eight batters across six shutout frames on Wednesday evening. Snelling allowed just two hits and did not serve up a free pass. This was a much-needed bounce-back outing for the southpaw as he allowed 13 earned runs in his last three starts. However, before that rough three-game stretch, the left-hander posted a strong 1.61 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP across his first 22 1/3 innings (four starts) this season. Last season, the 21-year-old spent most of his season at the Double-A level, both in the San Diego and Miami systems. Across 109 1/3 innings, he held a 5.35 ERA with a 1.53 WHIP. Given his steady progress at Double-A this season, Snelling should be in the mix to move up to Triple-A early this season.
