Reese Olson Starting Game 4 For Tigers
2 months agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Reese Olson will make the start for the team in Game 4 of the American League Division Series on Thursday at Comerica Park against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians. Olson will be hoping to pitch well enough to win and send the Tigers to the AL Championship Series. In his first playoff start in Game 1 on Saturday, Olson pitched well, allowing only a solo home run while walking one and striking out four in five innings of work against Cleveland. In two regular-season starts against the Guardians, he allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out seven in 12 innings of work. Olson's home/road splits in 2024 were pretty similar, so he doesn't look to have a big advantage pitching at home. Overall, he went 4-8 with a 3.53 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP and 101 strikeouts in 112 1/3 innings across 22 starts.
