Redskins Expected To Draft Running Back Early
7 years agoThe Washington Redskins are expected to look at drafting a running back in the early rounds. "That's a good possibility, yes," head coach Jay Gruden said. Unless they trade up in the first round, Washington is unlikely to land Penn State running back Saquon Barkley, but the team could also look to add a back in the second round. The 'Skins drafted Samaje Perine last year, but neither he nor Rob Kelley are seen as leading running backs, and they'd prefer to pair a higher-upside runner with Chris Thompson on passing downs.
