Rashaad Penny's Season Is Over
2 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny (ankle, leg) suffered a broken fibula in the Week 5 loss to the New Orleans Saints and will miss the rest of the season, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Penny also suffered a high-ankle sprain. The oft-injured 26-year-old will undergo surgery on his leg. He'll finish the 2022 season with 57 carries for 346 yards (6.1 yards per carry) and two touchdowns while also adding four catches on five targets for 16 yards in five games played. Penny will enter free agency this winter with plenty of injury questions. In his absence, rookie Kenneth Walker III is now in line to take over lead-back duties in Seattle, with DeeJay Dallas also in line for more work as the No. 2. Walker will be one of the most popular waiver-wire pickups this week.
