Phillip Lindsay Placed On Injured Reserve
Phillip Lindsay (hip, knee) was placed on Injured Reserve on Saturday and will miss the final two regular season games. Lindsay didn't practice all week and had already been ruled out for the Week 16 game against the division-rival Chargers. With the 26-year-old out the rest of the way, Melvin Gordon III will finally have this backfield all to himself. It's a little too late for fantasy managers, though, but Gordon will have low-end RB1/high-end RB2 appeal against his former team on Sunday, with Royce Freeman (hip) picking up scraps behind him if he's active. Lindsay was pretty much beat up all season long and just could never get going, especially while splitting the carries pretty much evenly with Gordon on a weekly basis. He will finish the year with a career-low 118 carries for 502 yards and a touchdown while adding seven catches for 28 yards in 11 games.
