Paulo Costa suffered a split decision loss to Sean Strickland in the co-main event of UFC 302. Costa was coming off a decision loss to Robert Whittaker back in February and early on, Costa had success as he outstruck Strickland in the first two rounds. However, the Brazilian appeared to slow down as Strickland began to up his pressure and took over in the later rounds. Costa was outstruck in the final three rounds and was outstruck 182-to-158 over the five rounds to drop a decision. With the loss, Costa is now 14-4 as a pro and 6-4 in the UFC while being 1-4 in his last five fights. The Brazilian will likely need to fight someone ranked behind him after UFC 302.--Cole Shelton
