Paul Skenes Optioned To Minors Camp
9 months agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes has been optioned to minor league camp on Sunday. Skenes will join a handful of other players that will head to the minors and not make the Opening Day roster. It's not surprising to see Skenes getting reassigned as he was a longshot to make the roster. The right-hander was the top selection of the 2023 MLB Draft. He is currently the No. 3 prospect in the league and is likely to be up pitching in Pittsburgh at some point in 2024. The 21-year-old posted a 1.00 WHIP and a 3/0 K/BB ratio across three scoreless innings this spring. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on Skenes as he should be back at the MLB level in 2024.
