Byron Buxton (head) are both out of the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers after they collided chasing a pop-up in Thursday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. Although neither player has been put on the injured list, they are both in the league's concussion protocol, and it's unknown if they'll be available to play all weekend.
Brooks Lee is starting at short and batting third, while
DaShawn Keirsey Jr. is in center field and hitting eighth against Brewers right-hander
Chad Patrick. Fantasy managers should prepare for the potential of both Correa and Buxton landing on the seven-day concussion list if they are unable to return in Milwaukee this weekend. Both Lee and Keirsey will be everyday players for Minnesota until Correa and Buxton are able to return.

Cincinnati Reds manager Terry Francona said that right-hander
Hunter Greene (groin) will throw a bullpen session on Saturday. Greene is recovering from a Grade 1 strain of his right groin on May 8 and will now proceed to throw his first bullpen in his recovery process. The hard-throwing 25-year-old could require multiple bullpen sessions before being cleared to go on a minor-league rehab assignment, so his timetable for a return is a bit unclear right now. But barring a setback, it's not out of the question that he'll be back in the Reds' starting rotation before the calendar flips to June. The former second overall pick in 2017 needs to be stashed in an injured-list spot in all fantasy formats as the team' ace. Before hurting his groin, Greene had gone 4-2 with a 2.36 ERA and 0.81 WHIP with 61 strikeouts and only eight walks in 45 2/3 innings over eight starts.

Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) homered in his first minor-league rehab game earlier this week at the rookie-level Florida Complex League and was immediately moved to Triple-A Gwinnett, where he went 2-for-3 with a single and a double on Thursday in his second rehab game. Although he tore his left ACL on May 26 of 2024, it doesn't seem like he'll need many more rehab games before he rejoins the Braves' lineup. He started in right field on Thursday and is scheduled to play again for Gwinnett on Friday. After that, he could go on the road with the Stripers or move his rehab to Double-A Columbus. The 27-year-old is off to a good start on his rehab assignment, but fantasy managers may not get him back until closer to the end of May as the Braves look to be cautious with the former MVP. When Acuna returns, he'll be a must-start in fantasy immediately.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Thursday that outfielder
Teoscar Hernandez (groin) will likely need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before coming off the 10-day injured list. It appears that Hernandez could embark on a rehab assignment as early as this weekend, which means that barring a setback, he could rejoin the major-league roster by the middle of next week. Fantasy managers have to be stoked about that news, as the 32-year-old veteran Dominican was near the top of the MLB leaderboards in several run-producing categories at the time of his adductor strain. In fact, he's still tied for fourth in baseball with 34 RBI and has added nine homers, a strong .315 average (41-for-130), 21 runs scored, four steals and a .933 OPS. Hernandez must be stashed in all leagues while he finishes up his rehab.

Tommy Edman (ankle) is close to coming off the 10-day injured list and will not need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment first. At the earliest, Edman could rejoin the Dodgers this weekend at Dodger Stadium for their series against the crosstown-rival Los Angeles Angels. If the 30-year-old doesn't return this weekend, he could be back next week against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks. L.A. could ease Edman in when he returns since he won't go on a rehab assignment, but there's no question that he's an everyday player for the Dodgers, which means rookie

The Tampa Bay Rays announced on Friday that they reinstated infielder
Yandy Diaz from the restricted list and optioned infielder
Coco Montes to Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move. Diaz was placed on the restricted list earlier this week due to a visa issue that prevented him from entering Canada and playing in the series against the Toronto Blue Jays. He's back with the team now and should be in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener in Miami against the Marlins and right-hander
Max Meyer. For DFS purposes, it's not the greatest matchup for the 33-year-old Cuban veteran against a pitcher on the rise who he has never faced in his career. Diaz will be returning to a mediocre .238/.291/.400 slash line with a below-average .691 OPS, six home runs, 20 RBI, 15 runs and two steals on the year. He has three homers in 10 games in May but is hitting just .184 (7-for-38).

The Chicago White Sox do not expect outfielder
Mike Tauchman (hamstring) to come off the 10-day injured list to rejoin the team this weekend during their three-game series at Wrigley Field against his former team, the Chicago White Sox, according to the Daily Herald's Mike McGraw. The White Sox are going to give him more time to ramp up after his second right-hamstring strain of the season. The 34-year-old veteran isn't going to be rushed back, but it's possible that he'll be back at some point next week after already playing in four minor-league rehab games. When he's healthy, Tauchman will have value in AL-only affairs as the team's likely starting right fielder against right-handed pitching. Before his second hammy injury, Tauchman had gone 4-for-10 in a small sample size in 2025 with a run scored in three games.

Vinny Capra to the active 26-man roster in a corresponding move. The team also acquired right-hander
Miguel Castro from the Houston Astros and selected his contract from Triple-A Charlotte. Left-hander Jared Schuster was optioned to Charlotte. The 26-year-old Amaya started the year as the team's starting shortstop but now finds himself off the 40-man roster after going 6-for-62 (.097) with no homers, seven RBI, six runs scored, two steals, two walks and 15 strikeouts in 33 games for Chicago. Josh Rojas will start at second base for the Pale Hose and will hit eighth in the batting order. Sosa will head to the bench on Friday after starting each of the team's last eight games. The 25-year-old Venezuelan infielder has really only been valuable for volume in AL-only leagues on one of the worst teams in baseball. He's currently hitting .267/.286/.373 with three home runs, 11 RBI, 12 runs scored and one steal in 150 total at-bats. However, he has gone 8-for-21 with a homer, two doubles, an RBI and a steal with four multi-hit games in his last six contests. Rojas offers little DFS appeal with a .143 average (4-for-28) and no homers on the year.

The Tampa Bay Rays have optioned second baseman
Coco Montes back to Triple-A Durham on Friday. Montes was recalled from Durham earlier in the week to replace
Yandy Diaz, who was on the restricted list. However, with Diaz expected to return on Friday, Montes will return to the minor leagues. Through five games in Tampa Bay this season, the 28-year-old has posted a .200 AVG with a high 30% strikeout rate. Last season, Montes made his MLB debut with the Colorado Rockies and held a similar .184 AVG across 18 games. However, through 304 career games at Triple-A, Montes has been very effective, posting a .303/.385/.521 slash line with 52 home runs and 32 stolen bases, Fantasy managers should expect Montes to have a depth role in the infield if he returns to Tampa Bay later this season.
