Kyle Wright Pulled From Rehab Assignment
Kyle Wright (shoulder) from his rehab assignment due to shoulder fatigue. The team noted that Wright is tentatively set to miss at least two starts before returning to action. Wright is currently on the 15-day injured list as he is working his way back from a torn capsule in his right shoulder. He missed the entire 2024 campaign but was nearing an early return to the big leagues. However, given this setback, Wright could be in danger of missing an extended period of time. Through his first six innings of rehab work with Double-A Northwest Arkansas, Wright has allowed seven hits and six runs. If the 29-year-old is able to progress well, he could be in line to return to Kansas City in early June.Source: Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals have pulled right-handed pitcher Sal Frelick Back In Brewers Lineup
Sal Frelick (knee) is starting in right field and is hitting sixth in Friday's series opener in Tampa against the Rays and right-hander Zack Littell. Frelick will return to the field after missing the team's last three games due to inflammation in his left knee. The 25-year-old former 15th overall pick in 2021 out of Boston College has seven stolen bases and has hit .297 (35-for-118) in his first 35 games this season, but his counting stats for fantasy managers have left a lot to be desired. He's gone deep just once and added five doubles, two triples, nine RBI and 16 runs scored for the Brew Crew. Frelick has only one hit in eight at-bats so far in the month of May and will be going up against a pitcher in Littell on Friday that he has never faced.Source: MLB.com

Enmanuel Valdez Placed On 10-Day Injured List
Enmanuel Valdez (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation. The team did not specify when the 26-year-old suffered this injury. Over his last six contests, Valdez has held a .136/.136/.182 slash line with just one extra-base hit (a double). However, prior to this recent skid, Valdez was enjoying a solid start to the campaign, where he held a .232/.338/.420 slash line with three doubles, two triples, two home runs, and a 13:11 K:BB. During this 25-game stretch, he tallied 11 RBI and scored seven runs. Under the hood, he has generated a solid .340 xwOBA with a .264 xBA, which are both above the average marks. While he is sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Jared Triolo to see an uptick in playing time.Source: Kevin Gorman
The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed infielder Jake Fraley Back From Injury
Jake Fraley (calf) is starting in right field and batting eighth for the Reds in Friday's series opener against the hosting Houston Astros and right-hander Hunter Brown at Daikin Park. Fraley will return to the starting lineup for the first time since suffering a minor calf injury on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter hasn't really gotten going so far in 78 at-bats in 2025, hitting just .205/.319/.359 with three home runs, nine RBI, 12 runs scored and three stolen bases. He's gone 2-for-22 in his last 10 games, making him pretty unattractive in his return to the starting lineup for DFS purposes. Fraley has faced Brown just once in his career and has recorded a hit. When healthy, Fraley rests regularly against lefty pitchers, limiting his upside in deep-mixed and NL-only leagues.Source: MLB.com
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Gustavo Campero Hits 10-Day Injured List
Gustavo Campero (ankle) on the 10-day injured list due to left ankle inflammation. This transaction was retroactive to May 7. In a corresponding move, the Angels promoted outfielder Matthew Lugo from Triple-A Salt Lake. The 27-year-old suffered this ankle injury during Tuesday's contest against the Toronto Blue Jays. Campero joined the MLB on April 30 and has gone 2-for-10 through his first week of the season. He has swiped one bag and held a 2:2 K:BB. Last season, Campero made his MLB debut and held a .239 AVG across his first 13 games in the majors. While he is sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Taylor Ward and Jo Adell to remain the top options at left and right field. Lugo is the No. 13-ranked prospect in the system and could eventually earn a role in the outfield.Source: Los Angeles Angels
The Los Angeles Angels have placed outfielder Reds Calling Up Chase Petty
Hunter Greene (groin) going on the 15-day injured list on Friday, the Cincinnati Reds are recalling right-handed pitching prospect Chase Petty from Triple-A Louisville, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith. Petty will return to the big leagues and fill in for Greene in Cincy's starting rotation for a few turns. The 22-year-old didn't fare so well in his big-league debut on April 30 in a start against the St. Louis Cardinals, surrendering nine earned runs on seven hits (two homers) while walking two and striking out three in 2 1/3 innings. The former first-rounder and No. 7-ranked Reds prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has a 2.79 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 35 K's and 12 walks in six starts for Louisville. Petty will get a slightly longer look this time and has plenty of strikeout upside as primarily a fastball, slider and cutter pitcher.Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Charlie Goldsmith
With right-hander Hayden Wesneski Placed On 15-Day Injured List
Hayden Wesneski (elbow) on the 15-day injured list with a sore elbow. In a corresponding move, the Astros recalled right-handed pitcher Logan VanWey. The 27-year-old only logged four innings in his most recent outing. In this start, he allowed a season-high four runs to the Milwaukee Brewers. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as the right-hander will miss at least the next two weeks of action. Through his first 32 innings of work this season, Wesneski has held a 4.50 ERA with an impressive 1.09 WHIP. During this stretch, the 27-year-old has struck out 29 batters and served up six walks. While he remains sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Ryan Gusto to rejoin the starting rotation.Source: Matt Kawahara
The Houston Astros have placed right-handed pitcher Austin Hays Activated And Starting On Friday

Hunter Greene Placed On 15-Day Injured List With Groin Strain
Hunter Greene (groin) on the 15-day injured list on Friday with a Grade 1 right-groin strain that he suffered in his outing on Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith. In a corresponding move, the Reds are calling up right-handed pitching prospect Chase Petty. It's a bummer for Greene's fantasy managers, but the good news is he isn't dealing with a serious groin strain and could be back in Cincy's starting rotation when he's eligible to come off the IL in a couple weeks. It's entirely possible that the hard-throwing 25-year-old will only miss a couple of starts. The former second overall pick in 2017 has been a must-start fantasy pitcher in 2025, going 4-2 with a 2.36 ERA and 0.81 WHIP with 61 strikeouts in 45 2/3 innings. Petty is the club's No. 6 prospect, per MLB Pipeline.Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Charlie Goldsmith
The Cincinnati Reds placed right-hander Royce Lewis Gets A Day Off In Series Opener
Royce Lewis is absent from the team's starting lineup for Friday's series opener at Target Field against the visiting San Francisco Giants. Brooks Lee will man third base and bat cleanup against Giants right-hander Jordan Hicks. Lewis has gone 0-for-9 with a strikeout in his first three games of the 2025 season after being activated from the injured list on Tuesday due to a hamstring strain he suffered in spring training. The 25-year-old former first overall pick in 2017 has quickly developed an injury-prone label but has high-end power from the right side, making him valuable in all fantasy leagues. Lewis should be back for Game 2 of the series against San Fran on Saturday. Lee's .253/.309/.387 slash line doesn't say much, and he's gone 7-for-30 (.233) with three doubles and two RBI in seven games in May. He has never faced Hicks early in his MLB career.Source: MLB.com

Enmanuel Valdez Out Against Braves
Enmanuel Valdez will start on the bench for Friday's series opener against the visiting Atlanta Braves at PNC Park. Matt Gorski will make the start at first base and will hit sixth against Braves right-hander Bryce Elder. Valdez will take a seat a day after the Pirates fired manager Derek Shelton after he had started the team's last 18 games at first base against right-handers. Valdez, 26, has done very little for those in NL-only leagues, hitting .209 (19-for-91) with two home runs, 12 RBI and seven runs scored for the Pirates. He's off to a 4-for-25 start in the month of May with an RBI and four strikeouts in 26 plate appearances. Gorski will be playing in just his ninth major-league game. Through his first eight contests, he's gone 4-for-19 with a homer, triple, RBI and a run scored. Gorski has yet to face Elder as a big-leaguer.Source: MLB.com
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Aaron Civale Throws Four Shutout Innings In Rehab Start
Aaron Civale (hamstring) started his minor-league rehab assignment off the right way on Thursday with Triple-A Nashville, tossing four shutout innings with one hit allowed, one walk and three strikeouts in a no-decisions. Civale will need another rehab start on the farm after throwing 50 pitches in the efficient outing on Thursday, but after that, he's expected to rejoin Milwaukee's starting rotation. The 29-year-old is recovering from a left-hamstring strain that landed him on the injured list in late March after he had made just one start for the Brew Crew. He gave up five earned runs on four hits (three home runs) in just three innings in his season debut at the New York Yankees on March 30. Civale has limited upside in fantasy because of his below-average strikeout rate, but he could serve as rotation depth in deeper leagues when he returns.Source: Milb.com
