Brusdar Graterol (shoulder) was not playing catch, according to manager Dave Roberts. "In the context of Spring Training, if you're not even playing catch, you're at least a couple months away," said Roberts. Graterol has been on the injured list all year due to right-shoulder inflammation and isn't going to return to the team's bullpen until after the All-Star break at some point. Continued soreness in the 25-year-old's arm caused him to be shut down in the middle of April, so he needs to build his arm all the way back up. The Venezuelan hurler had a career-best 1.20 ERA (3.03 FIP) and 0.96 WHIP with a career-high seven saves, 12 walks and a career-high 48 strikeouts in 67 1/3 innings in 2023 and is a late-inning, high-leverage arm for the Dodgers when he's healthy.

Ryan Brasier (calf) was playing catch but that he remains "a ways out" from returning from the 15-day injured list. Brasier pulled his right calf muscle while doing some sprinting as part of his regular warmups before the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 29 and was put on the IL, retroactive to April 28. An MRI exam on April 30 showed that the strain was mild. Once the 36-year-old resumes throwing off a mound, he'll most likely need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before returning to the Dodgers' bullpen. Before getting hurt, Brasier had allowed six earned runs while walking three and fanning 12 in 12 outings (one start) over 11 2/3 innings. Brasier can remain on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.

Joe Kelly (shoulder) was throwing out from 90 feet, but manager Dave Roberts said that Kelly was on a "slow program" and a return from the injured list was not imminent. Kelly was unexpectedly placed on the 15-day injured list before the May 6 game against the Miami Marlins. The 35-year-old veteran will need to start throwing off a mound again first before eventually going on a short minor-league rehab assignment. Even though Kelly's return has been slowed, as long as he doesn't suffer a setback, he should be able to return before the start of July. Kelly is really only fantasy relevant in deep holds leagues. So far in 2024, he's recorded a 4.73 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with five walks and 14 strikeouts in 13 1/3 innings out of LA's bullpen.

Alex Bregman was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins. The 30-year-old has caught fire as of late, specifically in the power department, as he has mashed four homers over his last six games. It is nice to see some signs of life from the two-time All Star as he had a dismal start to the season. He is still slashing an uncharacteristic .229/.287/.395 across 57 games to go along with eight homers, 28 RBI and two stolen bases. The boy-low window on Bregman appears to be closing fast as he continues to round into form.

Ranger Suarez (hand) is reportedly improving and should be able to make his next scheduled start. The 28-year-old exited Saturday's game early after taking a comebacker off of his left hand, but the swelling has apparently subsided quite a bit. The team is still going to wait a day or two before Suarez picks up a ball, but everyone is encouraged by the progress. Suarez has been masterful for the Phillies this year as evidenced by his 9-1 record, 1.70 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 79/16 K/BB. He is tentatively scheduled to take the mound on Saturday against the New York Mets in London. It seems like he has a good chance to make that outing.

Luis Arraez left Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals in the sixth inning with an apparent arm injury. It appeared as though Arraez hurt himself in the fifth inning while attempting to slide into second base. It is unclear exactly what the 27-year-old is dealing with at this point, but more information should come out after the game. Padres fans and fantasy managers alike will be hoping his departure was precautionary as Arraez has been a revelation since coming to California. He is slashing .391/.414/.455 with one home run, 12 RBI, 14 runs and three stolen bases across 26 games with the Padres.
Donovan Solano would be the likely replacement at first base if Arraez has to miss any time.

Trevor Larnach was 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk during Sunday's 4-3 win over the Houston Astros. It was Larnach's third homer in his past four games and his sixth on the season. The 27-year-old started off the season with a hot stretch but hit a paltry .203 across May. Nevertheless, he is starting to round into form again and slashing a respectable .270/.333/.470 on the year. Larnach is a worthwhile depth outfielder in deeper leagues, especially if he continues to see the leadoff spot against right-handers.

Brendan Donovan (neck) is not in the team's starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Donovan has missed the previous two games due to stiffness in his neck.
Alec Burleson will start in left field and bat second for the Cardinals while
Matt Carpenter will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth. Donovan is considered day-to-day for now and will have a chance to return for Monday's game against the Houston Astros.

Garrett Stubbs will handle catching duties in his absence and bat eighth. Stubbs is an unappealing fantasy option in all formats as evidenced by his .170/.250/.170 slash line this season. Realmuto should be back behind the plate in Monday's contest against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Ramon Urias pinch-hit for him as he exited the field with the training staff. It is unclear at this point what the injury actually is, but more info should come out after the game, and Mateo is likely to be put through the concussion protocols. Mateo is slashing .246/.294/.447 with three home runs, 13 RBI and 10 stolen bases this season. Urias is the likely option to replace Mateo at second base, although there is a slight chance top prospect
Jackson Holliday could return to the majors if Mateo is out for an extended period.

Max Muncy (oblique) felt a twinge in his rib cage while swinging a bat last week and has been shut down from all baseball activities. The 33-year-old is still without a timeline to return. Muncy has been sidelined since May 17 and it does not appear that he will be returning any time soon.
Enrique Hernandez will likely continue to see most of the reps at third base with
Chris Taylor and
Miguel Rojas occasionally filling in. Muncy is still worthy of a stash spot in the majority of formats due to his serious power, but any other setbacks would start to hamper the veteran slugger's value.

Shohei Ohtani (elbow) has begun throwing from 60 feet and is slowly increasing his velocity. Ohtani underwent elbow surgery on his throwing arm in November after suffering a UCL tear late last season. The 29-year-old has been throwing for the majority of the season but recently began throwing from 60 feet this week and increased his velocity to around 80 mph. On the bump last season, Ohtani posted a 3.14 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and a 55:167 BB:K. The two-way sensation will not take the mound at all this season and will continue to serve as the everyday designated hitter in Los Angeles. Ohtani remains a top-five fantasy option in all formats, as he will always be found batting second in a potent Dodgers lineup and is currently riding an incredible .326/.395/.604 slash line with 14 home runs and 14 stolen bases through 57 games.

Gerrit Cole (elbow) is expected to make his first rehab start on Tuesday with Double-A Somerset. This is a big step for the Yankee ace, who has been on the 60-day injured list since March with right elbow inflammation. The 33-year-old performed very well when facing live hitters over the past week and will now embark on the final step in his recovery process. However, the reigning AL Cy Young winner should be expected to make several rehab starts before being activated, setting up a potential return date in late June or early July. Cole posted a stellar 2.63 ERA with a dominant 0.98 WHIP and 48:222 BB:K ratio last season and will immediately slot in as a top pitching option in all fantasy formats.

Bobby Miller (shoulder) completed his second minor-league rehab outing on Saturday, June 1, with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, where he logged 3 1/3 innings with five hits, one free pass, and four earned runs. Miller logged 65 total pitches but did see a drop in velocity. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has yet to show any concern about the drop in velocity, as it does not appear to be related to his shoulder inflammation. The 25-year-old is scheduled to start another rehab game on Friday, this time with Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he could rejoin the major-league rotation shortly after that. Miller has high-end fantasy upside with the Dodgers and should be stashed everywhere while he recovers.

Ben Joyce was promoted to the major leagues in a corresponding move that sent left-hander
Reid Detmers to Triple-A Salt Lake. Joyce held a 4.26 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 19 innings at Double-A earlier this season. Joyce made his major-league debut last season and logged just 10 innings to the tune of a 5.40 ERA, 1.80 WHIP, and a 9:10 BB:K. However, the 23-year-old operated exclusively out of the bullpen last season. Joyce, the team's No. 4 prospect per MLB Pipeline, owns an explosive triple-digit fastball, but he's had trouble locating it so far in his professional career. He has the makings of a future closer if he can show better command.
