San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones completed 26 of his 39 pass attempts for 279 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints. He also rushed for six yards and took three sacks. Jones made the start on Sunday with Brock Purdy (shoulder) sidelined, and he looked very comfortable and productive. The former first-round pick will remain the team's starter for the duration of Purdy's absence, which will likely last several weeks. While Jones isn't a long-term solution for fantasy managers, he presents an intriguing option on the waiver wire ahead of Week 3. Next Sunday, the 49ers are set to take on the Arizona Cardinals, who just allowed 328 yards and three touchdowns to Bryce Young. With NFL starting experience and a variety of weapons at his disposal, Jones should put together another solid game against the subpar Cardinals defense. He should rank just outside the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks heading into next week, making him a worthwhile fill-in for managers dealing with injuries or underwhelming quarterback play.--Andersen Pickard

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. (hamstring) exited during the second half of Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Atlanta Falcons and did not return. Minnesota officially listed him as questionable, but he did not return to the field after receiving that designation, nor did the team provide any more updates on his status. As a result, the veteran finished Week 2 with just five carries for 25 rushing yards, and he was unable to haul in his only target. Jordan Mason, who had already been eating into Jones' workload before his injury, took over as Minnesota's primary running back for the final quarter. Fantasy managers should closely monitor Jones' practice status during the upcoming week. He has seven days to get healthy before Minnesota takes on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3. If he's unable to suit up, Mason would have the lead-back role all to himself, ranking as a mid-range RB2 in fantasy football.--Andersen Pickard

Cincinnati Bengals rookie first-round defensive end Shemar Stewart (ankle, knee) likely avoided suffering a major injury during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Stewart was seen on crutches postgame and is expected to be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. While the first-round pick's status for next Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings is up in the air, it sounds like he won't be placed on injured reserve and ultimately shouldn't miss too much time. As Stewart recovers, Myles Murphy will earn more defensive snaps as a rotational piece behind Trey Hendrickson and Joseph Ossai.--Andersen Pickard

Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller (hip) is not expected to play in Thursday's Week 3 contest against the Buffalo Bills, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Waller came out of retirement to start a new chapter of his career with Miami this offseason, but his Dolphins debut has been put on hold as he works his way back from a hip injury he suffered during training camp. The veteran hasn't played in an NFL game since 2023 with the Giants, when he caught 52 passes for 552 yards and one touchdown. Even when Waller is healthy enough to play again, he'll be off the fantasy radar given his declining productivity and role in an offense that doesn't emphasize passing to the tight end.--Andersen Pickard

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams recorded 108 receiving yards in his team's 52-21 Week 2 victory over the Chicago Bears, including a 44-yard touchdown catch. However, Williams hauled in just two passes on four targets, raising questions about whether his role will be expanded beyond being a downfield threat in 2025. The 24-year-old Williams is unquestionably explosive with the ball in his hands, averaging over 17 yards per reception for his career. Still, he's recorded just six catches on nine targets through the first two games of the season after averaging under four catches per game in 2024. Williams profiles as a boom/bust fantasy WR3/flex option until proven otherwise.--Will Brady

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee) is considered day-to-day with a knee injury, per Josh Taylor of A to Z Sports. Daniels reportedly received an MRI on the affected knee after getting banged up in his team's Thursday night loss to the Green Bay Packers. The 24-year-old has thrown for 433 yards and three touchdowns through the first two games of the season. Still, he brings a significant amount of value with his legs, rushing for 891 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie last season and 85 yards so far in 2025. If Daniels is forced to miss time, veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota would likely step in as the Washington starter in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Even if Daniels can play, his rushing ability could be significantly impacted, depending on the severity of this knee injury.--Will Brady

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes struggled to move the ball through the air in his team's 20-17 Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, completing 16 of 29 pass attempts for 188 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Still, Mahomes managed to save his fantasy stat line by rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown on seven attempts. The Chiefs will have easier matchups than the Eagles' defense going forward, but it may be difficult for Mahomes as a passer while top receivers Rashee Rice (suspension) and Xavier Worthy (shoulder) remain sidelined. Mahomes has been highly effective as a rusher so far this season, recording 123 yards and two touchdowns on 13 attempts. However, Kansas City likely won't want to risk his health by asking him to do too much with his legs. Mahomes remains a mid-to-low-end fantasy QB1 going forward.--Will Brady

Denver Broncos wide receiver Troy Franklin had the best game of his career in Week 2, recording eight catches for 89 yards and a touchdown in his team's 29-28 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Franklin was targeted nine times in a game where no other Denver receiver logged more than four targets. The second-year wideout has now recorded 12 catches on 15 targets for 133 yards and a touchdown this season. Franklin could be emerging as the number two wide receiver in Denver behind Courtland Sutton. The 22-year-old will be a name to monitor on the waiver wire for fantasy managers heading into a Week 3 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.--Will Brady

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones posted his second straight stellar performance in his team's 29-28 Week 2 victory over the Denver Broncos. Jones completed 23 of 34 passes for 316 yards and one touchdown, adding another touchdown as a rusher as well. Jones has now thrown for 588 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions across the first two games of the season. He's rushed for three scores as well. The 28-year-old is in his first year in Indianapolis after six underwhelming seasons with the New York Giants. Jones has been far better than expectations so far with the Colts, and may deserve consideration as a waiver-wire pickup in fantasy. He'll play his first road game of the season in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans.--Will Brady

The Dallas Cowboys are signing veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney to a one-year, $3.5 million deal with a maximum value of $6 million, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Dallas traded away star edge rusher Micah Parsons before the season started, and their defense has allowed 61 points over the first two weeks of the season. Clowney should be able to help replace some of the pass rush the Cowboys lost in Parsons. Clowney has recorded 58 career sacks across 11 NFL seasons, including 5.5 in 14 games for the Carolina Panthers in 2024. The 32-year-old will likely slot into a rotational role behind starting Cowboys defensive ends Sam Williams and Dante Fowler Jr.--Will Brady

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor had a monster game in his team's Week 2 win over the Denver Broncos. The 26-year-old logged 25 carries for 165 yards and also caught two passes for 50 yards and a touchdown. Across the first two games of the season, Taylor has now recorded 313 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 48 total touches. The Colts' offense has been surprisingly effective so far overall, dropping 33 points on the Miami Dolphins in Week 1 and 29 on Denver in Week 2. Taylor is a must-start fantasy running back with high-end RB1 upside as long as he stays healthy and the Indianapolis offense remains competent.--Will Brady

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (turf toe) could miss three months if it is determined that he needs to undergo surgery, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Images of Burrow's injury have been sent to Dr. Robert Anderson, who will review the information and suggest the best course of action for the former No. 1 overall pick. While there was certainly concern that Burrow's injury could be serious after he was seen with crutches and a walking boot, a three-month absence seems to fall on the more extreme end of worst-case scenarios for the star quarterback. We'll likely know more information about his status Monday when the dust settles on Week 2. Barring an unforeseen development, Jake Browning will start at quarterback for the Bengals in Week 3 and beyond.--Andersen Pickard

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott completed 38 of 52 pass attempts for 361 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 2 win over the New York Giants in overtime. He also took three sacks and rushed for 17 yards. The veteran signal caller certainly bounced back after a disappointing season opener, and it was intriguing to see him spread the ball around to a variety of pass catchers. CeeDee Lamb, Jake Ferguson, and George Pickens all had at least nine targets apiece while combining for 258 yards and one touchdown as a group. Prescott will be a fringe top-12 fantasy quarterback heading into next week's favorable matchup against the Chicago Bears, who just surrendered five passing touchdowns to Jared Goff.--Andersen Pickard

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams caught six of his 13 targets for a team-leading 106 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans. The Rams vowed to get Adams more involved this week, and that's exactly what happened, as the veteran pass catcher carved out an impressive 39.4 percent target share. Although he finished with fewer fantasy points than Puka Nacua for the second week in a row, what's more important is that both Nacua and Adams scored at least 22.5 points (PPR). Week 2 showed that the two can easily co-exist in a Matthew Stafford-led offense, which bodes well for their respective fantasy values going forward. Heading into Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Nacua is a low-end WR1 while Adams is a mid-to-high WR2. Both have high-end WR1 upside, though.--Andersen Pickard

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey rushed for 55 yards on 13 carries during Sunday's Week 2 victory over the New Orleans Saints. He also caught six of seven targets for an additional 53 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. Although the veteran playmaker didn't quite eclipse the 100-yard mark, he made up for it by scoring his first touchdown of the 2025 campaign. He also served as a very valuable and dependable pass-catching option for quarterback Mac Jones amidst the injury to Brock Purdy (shoulder). McCaffrey has wasted no time making a big impact in fantasy football, scoring at least 22.7 points (PPR) in each of his first two games this year. There's minimal competition for the 29-year-old in San Francisco, keeping him in the mid-range RB1 tier ahead of Week 3 versus the Arizona Cardinals.--Andersen Pickard
