Oscar Colas Sent To Triple-A
1 year agoThe Chicago White Sox are sending rookie outfielder Oscar Colas to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday and recalling catcher Carlos Perez from the minors in a corresponding move, according to a source. The White Sox are also expected to recall right-hander Deivi Garcia from Charlotte after claiming him off waivers from the New York Yankees on Aug. 12. Colas will go back down to the farm for the second time this year after really struggling in his first taste of the big leagues in 2023. The 24-year-old Cuban has hit just .216/.257/.314 with five home runs, nine doubles, 19 RBI, four stolen bases and 32 runs scored in 263 trips to the plate over 75 games. With Colas back at Charlotte, expect Gavin Sheets and Trayce Thompson to share playing time in right field in Chicago.
