Nolan Gorman Scratched With Tight Back
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals infielder Nolan Gorman (back) has been scratched from Monday's starting lineup against the Oakland Athletics due to lower-back tightness. Taylor Motter will now play second base and bat ninth in the order against A's left-hander JP Sears. Back tightness has kept Gorman out before this year, so hopefully this doesn't develop into something more serious that requires a stint on the injured list. For now, fantasy managers should consider the 23-year-old to be day-to-day. In his second major-league season, Gorman has been a solid source of power in fantasy. He's currently slashing .241/.328/.487 with an .815 OPS, 24 home runs, 16 doubles, 67 RBI, six stolen bases and 50 runs scored in 104 games. Check back on Tuesday to see if he's available to play.
