Nolan Arenado to Meet With Team Doctors
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (shoulder) will rejoin the club in Miami on Tuesday, but he's not ready to come off the 10-day injured list. Arenado, who has been rehabbing from a right-shoulder strain at the Cardinals' spring training complex in Florida, is set to meet with team doctors to get a clearer picture of his recovery timeline. The eight-time All-Star went on the IL on Aug. 1 after slumping to a .235/.294/.366 line with 10 homers, 43 RBI, and 43 runs scored in 394 plate appearances. Arenado ranks in the league's 15th percentile or worse in hard-hit rate, average exit velocity, and xwOBA, which doesn't provide much hope for a turnaround if he does come back this year.
