Noelvi Marte Tallies Five Hits, Drives In Seven
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Noelvi Marte had an explosive day at the plate, going 5-for-7 with a home run, two doubles, seven RBI, and three runs. The entire offense was firing on all cylinders in the 24-2 win over the Orioles, and this was an encouraging sign for the former top prospect. It's important to note that his grand slam and one of his doubles came off Jorge Mateo and Gary Sanchez, so don't take this as a sure sign of a breakout. Still, Marte is expected to get more playing time with Christian Encarnacion-Strand landing on the injured list, and there's still time for the youngster to figure things out at the major league level.
