Nathan Lukes Has Surgery On His Thumb
6 months agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Nathan Lukes (thumb) underwent surgery to fix the UCL in his left thumb last Wednesday. There is no timeline on his return yet, but he's expected to return later this season. Lukes suffered a left-thumb injury while playing for Triple-A Buffalo. The 29-year-old made a strong bid for the regular season roster during spring training, and if the Blue Jays needed an outfielder at any point, he would have been the guy. Lukes was up with the big-league squad for only one game this year and has spent the rest of his time at Buffalo, going 57-for-171 (.333) with six home runs, 27 RBI and four stolen bases in 44 games. The former seventh-rounder by the Cleveland Guardians in 2015 out of Sacramento State debuted in the big leagues last year and hit just .192 (5-for-26) with two RBI in 29 games played.
