Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has been on the shelf since May 4 with a right hamstring strain, and the rehabilitation process on that injury is going slower than expected. The club told reporters Monday that Miggy has been experiencing some stiffness in his lower back as he goes through the stretching and strengthening routine, which has ultimately delayed his return. The veteran slugger was eligible to return to the lineup on Monday but hasn't even participated in baseball activity or on-field running.
