Michael Soroka Headed To Injured List
1 year agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Michael Soroka felt numbness in his fingers during his start on Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals and is heading to the 15-day injured list. In his three innings of work against St. Louis, he allowed five runs while walking one and striking out six. Tuesday's start was just Soroka's sixth of the year for Atlanta and his first since July 21, so it's a disappointing result. At this point of the season, it would be surprising to see the 26-year-old pitch in the majors again in 2023, especially given his injury history. Soroka entered Tuesday's start with a 2-1 record, 5.52 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 23 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings pitched over six appearances (five starts) for Atlanta in 2023.
