Carolina Hurricanes left wing Max Pacioretty has torn his right Achilles for the second time in less than a year, the team announced on Friday. He was injured Thursday in the final seconds of a matchup against Minnesota, and whilst it was initially announced simply as a lower-body injury, it has now been confirmed that Pacioretty has torn the Achilles tendon on his right foot that required surgery in the offseason. The injury will end Pacioretty's season and he finishes his debut campaign with the Hurricanes after skating in only five games. The 34-year-old notched his only points via three goals.--Taavi Pailk
