Max Meyer Could Pitch In Arizona Fall League
11 months agoMiami Marlins pitching prospect Max Meyer (elbow) could be available to pitch in the Arizona Fall League later this year. Meyer, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, had Tommy John surgery last August, but he could be ready to resume pitching this fall in October through November. The 24-year-old right-hander made his major-league debut for the Fish in 2022 and allowed five runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out six in six innings over two starts. He had a 3.69 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 19 walks and 69 strikeouts in 61 innings over 13 starts in the minors for Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville. Meyer has the strength and athleticism to remain a starter in the big leagues, and his wipeout slider is his biggest weapon.
