Ottawa Senators goaltender Matt Murray was waived on Saturday, the team announced. The move came after Murray was a healthy scratch for Friday's 4-0 loss to the Ducks. Murray is winless for the Senators this season in five starts, and his career overall has taken a U-turn ever since the two-time Stanley Cup champion moved to Ottawa in 2020. Murray signed a four-year, $25 million deal with the Senators, so getting him off the books would be huge for the club. With that said, it's unlikely that anyone will make a move for the 27-year-old, and he's set to head to the AHL, with Senators head coach D.J. Smith open to giving him another chance later in the season. Filip Gustavsson, who is 3-4-1 for the season, starts for the team on Saturday against the Kings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
