New York Mets pitcher Matt Allan (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a partial tear in his ulnar collateral ligament, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Allan is the top pitching prospect in the Mets' organization, and had been set to start the year with the team's High-A affiliate in Brooklyn. It's another setback for Allan following the cancellation of the 2020 minor league season, as it will have been three years since his last game by the time he has recovered from the procedure. In his debut season in 2019, Allan posted a 2.61 ERA and 31.1 percent strikeout rate in 10 1/3 innings between Rookie and Low-A.--MichaelRead More News
