Martin Truex Jr. Good In Phoenix But Owners Should Be Cautious
5 years agoMartin Truex Jr. has struggled to get his 2020 Cup Series season going thus far, averaging a finish of 22nd after three races. Fortunately for him and his team, the series rolls into Phoenix, Arizona, this week for the FanShield 500 on Sunday. Since 2017, Truex has an average finish of sixth at the speedway, including three top-five finishes. In four of his past five races at Phoenix, Truex has also had driver ratings over 110. All of the past stats are on Truex's side this week, which is why his prize is so high, but owners should be cautious about spending that kind of salary given his rough start to the season, and there are cheaper drivers with better stats this week.
