Marquez Valdes-Scantling Ruled Out, Expected To Go On IR
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and is expected to be placed on the short-term Injured Reserve, according to a source. The Packers are worried that the speedy downfield threat could aggravate his injury if he tries to play through it. If MVS goes on IR, he'll be forced to miss at least three weeks. Through three weeks, Valdes-Scantling is second among Packers wideouts with 16 targets, and he's caught six of them for 76 yards and one TD. Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, rookie Amari Rodgers and Malik Taylor will now battle for looks behind top wideout Davante Adams. Cobb and Lazard are the best bets to fill out three-receiver sets and are worth a pickup in deeper leagues.
