Mariners Could Pursue Trade For Mark Canha
1 year agoOther teams have asked the New York Mets about the availability of outfielder Mark Canha, and a possible match could be with the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners are familiar with Canha from his years in the American League West with the Oakland Athletics and pursued him in free agency two winters ago. The disappointing Mets are likely to be sellers at the Aug. 1 trade deadline. Canha hasn't been very special for fantasy managers in his second season with the Mets, as he's slashing .244/.346/.396 with six homers, 28 RBI, seven steals and 27 runs in 225 at-bats, but he'd fill a need for the Mariners the rest of the way in the outfield after they just lost Jarred Kelenic with a fractured foot.
