Marcus Smart Exits With A Knee Problem
2 years agoBoston Celtics guard Marcus Smart left Saturday's 121-116 win over San Antonio early because of a knee injury. He took a hit right below his left knee and ended up featuring for only 22 minutes in the game. Luckily, the X-rays have come back negative and Smart himself has also said that he doesn't believe the injury is serious. He will have an MRI on Sunday. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year finished Saturday with five points, two rebounds, four assists and one steal. His absence allowed Malcolm Brogdon to play a more active role, and he performed very well by getting 23 points off the bench with seven assists. Payton Pritchard is also a candidate to get more minutes if Smart is forced to miss some time, but he remained on the bench for the whole game Saturday and hasn't done anything all season.
