Logan Allen Heading To The Tribe In Second Round
5 years agoThe Cleveland Indians selected Florida International pitcher Logan Allen with the 56th overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Allen was selected in the 16th round by the Orioles in 2017 out of high school because of a three-pitch mix and his control of his entire repertoire of pitches. He was a two-way player in his two years in college, but his future in the pro ranks is on the mound. The young southpaw attacks hitters with his three-pitch mix and had a strong showing in the Cape Cod League last year. Allen's changeup is his out pitch that he sets up really well, inducing weak contact. There isn't a huge ceiling here, but he can keep hitters off balance and is an advanced collegiate left-hander.
