Minnesota Twins first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. is leading off for the first time this season on Monday against the Detroit Tigers. The team's primary leadoff hitter, Jorge Polanco, is getting the game off. Wade has only made five previous starts this year, hitting no higher than sixth in the lineup in any of the games. He has just 21 plate appearances this year and is slashing .250/.286/.300.
