Kyle Tucker 2023 Player Outlook: Two Seasons Of Excellence Provides A Glimpse Of What To Expect
2 years agoKyle Tucker made it back-to-back 30 homer seasons in 2022 and although his batting average dropped from .294 in 2021 to .257 in 2022, he also stole 25 bases leaving him as the only member of the 30/20 last year. Tucker hit .228/.279/.456 against left-handed pitching (.275/.359/.491 against right-handed pitching) so with the restrictions on defensive shifts in 2023, it's fair to believe we will see improvements in his batting average moving forward and hitting north of .260 is more than reasonable. Tucker spent most of the season in the middle of the Astros lineup with 82 games coming from the number five spot in the order and that helped him to tally 71 runs and 107 RBI. The addition of Jose Abreu to the lineup should only help Tucker put up the counting stats and he is on the verge of being a true five-category contributor in fantasy. With an ADP inside the first ten picks, it's safe to assume you'll need to use a mid-first-round pick to draft Tucker and he's certainly capable of providing first round value.
