11 months agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland stretched his undefeated streak to eight straight outings by shutting down the Athletics at home on Friday night. Freeland threw six shutout innings while striking out five to earn his ninth win of the season. Freeland's ridden a fine line of effectiveness this season, combining a low strikeout rate with a sky-high strand rate to earn a shiny 3.13 ERA while secretly holding on to a 4.39 xFIP. Even if his ERA does correct, that's not a terrible one for a back of the rotation guy, but definitely don't be buying Freeland keeping up a sub-3.20 ERA for the full season.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
