Kyle Freeland Drops ERA To 2.96
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland is the quiet one in the National League Cy Young race. While everyone knows the names like Scherzer and deGrom, Freeland has been on a run that rivals them. With another quality start on Friday night against the Braves, Freeland lowered his season ERA to 2.96 and knocked out his 11th win. Since May 1, he's been especially good, posting an ERA of just 2.59 with 13 quality starts and a 10-3 record. Unfortunately, the idea of the Rockies being carried by a pitcher is a bit baffling and Freeland's stayed under the radar. Add in that his numbers are screaming for a correction and his strikeout rate is below average, and he can't even get any love from the fantasy community. That explains why he's still only 69% owned in Yahoo.
