Kyle Allen Clears COVID-19 Protocols
3 years agoWashington Football Team quarterback Kyle Allen has cleared the COVID-19 protocols and is able to return to the field, according to a source. Allen was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday and will return to the active roster. Starter Taylor Heinicke was also activated on Thursday and will resume starting duties in Week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, so Allen will return to backup duties this weekend. Both QBs missed the Week 15 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday when Garrett Gilbert stepped in to lead the offense. Allen has played in just one game this year, going 4-for-9 for 53 yards in the first meeting against Dallas two weeks ago when Heinicke was injured briefly.
