Kevin McGonigle Heating Up at High-A
Kevin McGonigle went 2-for-5 with a walk, a double, and two runs scored on Tuesday for High-A West Michigan. The Tigers' second-ranked prospect (MLB No. 26) injured his ankle on Opening Day and recently completed a six-game rehab assignment for Single-A Lakeland, finally returning to action at High-A on May 21. The former 37th-overall draft pick is 5-for-14 in the five games since returning with six walks compared to four strikeouts, and has four doubles in the last three games alone. The 20-year-old is coming off a fantastic 2024 campaign in which he slashed .309/.401/.452 with five home runs, 22 steals, and a minuscule 8.5 percent strikeout rate, which saw him make a big jump up the prospect ranks. He's a couple of years away from the big leagues, but has great bat-to-ball skills to go along with some speed, so dynasty managers should keep an eye on how he performs the rest of the year.
