Kevin Kiermaier Out Due To Back Spasms
10 months agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (back) is out of Wednesday's starting lineup against the visiting San Francisco Giants due to back spasms. Kiermaier says he's day-to-day, so it doesn't appear to be too serious, although we'll keep an eye on his status heading into Thursday's series finale against the Gigantes. The 33-year-old veteran has missed the last two games this week. Daulton Varsho is making another start in center field and is hitting sixth on Wednesday against Giants right-hander Logan Webb. Kiermaier is performing well in his first season with Toronto, hitting .276 (54-for-196), but his counting stats (four homers, 18 RBI and eight stolen bases) leave a lot to be desired. As long as he stays off the injured list, he's worth rostering in deep-mixed leagues as a regular for this Jays team.
