New York Rangers center Kevin Hayes has been traded to the Winnipeg Jets for left wing Brendan Lemieux, a 2019 first-round pick, and a conditional fourth-round draft pick. Hayes is a pending unrestricted free agent who had no intentions of re-signing with the Rangers. The 26-year-old will likely play on the Jets' second line alongside Kyle Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers. It is a definite plus for his fantasy value as he becomes part of one of the deeper offensive units in the league. Hayes has 14 goals and 28 assists through 51 games this season. It is the third consecutive year that Hayes has managed to break the 40-point plateau. He will play a big role on a team with Stanley Cup aspirations so add Hayes if he is toiling on the waiver wire. --Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
