Ketel Marte Stays Hot, Collects Two More Hits Tuesday
10 months agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte went 2-for-3 with a single, a triple, and a run scored in Tuesday's 10-3 Cactus League loss to the Texas Rangers. That makes it three straight spring games with a hit for Marte, going 5-for-7 (.714) with a walk and he's also been hit by a pitch (.778 OBP). Marte had a hit in 16 straight postseason games in 2023 before going 0-for-2 (with three walks) in the final game of the World Series, so it looks like he hasn't missed a beat. Last year's NLCS MVP projects for another productive season at the plate although, as far as second baseman go, you can find others who will steal many more than the eight stolen by Marte last season. NFBC ADP has the 30-year-old going around pick 116, but RotoBaller likes him at 100th overall.
