Kenneth Gainwell - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles rookie running back Kenneth Gainwell is just a stash option for now in most formats. When Miles Sanders (ankle) was lost to injured reserve, many thought that Gainwell would shoot into the every-week RB2 conversation as he'd be the one taking over the backfield. Instead, the Eagles used special teamer Boston Scott and practice squad member Jordan Howard as their running backs for three weeks, with Howard becoming the 14th-highest scoring running back in half-PPR formats despite not recording a catch for those three weeks. Meanwhile, Gainwell saw fantasy scores of three, six, and two points for those weeks. With Sanders expected to return soon, Gainwell may return to the complementary role he had earlier in the season, but the success of Scott and Howard means both are unlikely to go away completely, making this backfield a messy one better avoided in most fantasy formats.
