Kenley Jansen Earns Save No. 12 On Monday
Kenley Jansen notched his 12th save of the season in Monday's 7-6 win over the Red Sox. Jansen came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by one and shut the door with a 1-2-3 outing, including a strikeout. The 37-year-old may not have the peripherals he used to provide earlier in his career, but he has converted all of his save opportunities with a 4.91 ERA, a 1.42 WHIP, an 8.35 K/9 rate, and a 1.96 HR/9 rate in 18 1/3 innings of work. He may be towards the end of his career, but his strong job security should still make him a useful fantasy option in at least most roto leagues, despite his uninspiring ratios.
