Justin Verlander Loses For First Time Since April 29
6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander allowed three runs on six hits through seven innings as the Red Sox edged the Astros 4-1 on Sunday. Verlander (8-2) struck out six but took his first loss since April 29. The right-hander allowed a solo home run to Rafael Devers but otherwise pitched well as the Astros offense was shut down in this one. Verlander still is having an elite season and will take a 2.38 ERA and a 0.74 WHIP into his next start.
