Justin Fields Officially Doubtful This Week
3 years agoChicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields (ribs) was limited in practice all week but is listed as doubtful for the Week 13 contest against the Arizona Cardinals. Head coach Matt Nagy has already named Andy Dalton as the starting QB for this Sunday, and Nick Foles will back him up. Fields fractured some ribs in Week 11 and didn't play in last week's Thanksgiving Day win over the Detroit Lions. The Bears will play it safe and let him rest for another week, with his chances being much better to suit up in Week 14. The 22-year-old first-rounder has completed 58.47% of his 183 pass attempts for 1,291 yards, four touchdowns and seven interceptions in his first eight NFL starts, also taking a whopping 29 sacks. There's plenty of long-term upside here, but Fields has struggled so far in his rookie season and won't be more than a low-end QB2 when he returns to the starting role.
