Jose Altuve Won't Take Part In Midsummer Classic
3 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve announced that he will not participate in next week's All-Star game. Altuve said he's dealing with a minor left leg injury and wants the four days off to rest up for the second half of the season. So both Altuve and his middle-infield partner, Carlos Correa, are choosing to sit out of the All-Star game next week. After a terrible season in 2020, the seven-time All-Star has bounced back in a big way in 2021, slashing .286/.370/.508 with 19 home runs, 64 runs scored, 52 RB and four stolen bases in five attempts over 351 plate appearances. The 31-year-old is on pace for a career-high in home runs and should remain a fantasy force in the second half of the season in this loaded Astros lineup.
