Jorge Soler Hammers Seventh Home Run
6 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Soler continues to live the Casey At The Bat mentality as he came to the plate four times on Monday, struck out in three of them, and blasted a mammoth home run in the other one. Soler's solo shot came at a critical time as it brought KC back within one run of the Rays, but the bullpen would falter and allow the lead to grow from there. Soler is bringing the power in spades this season, but unfortunately, he's sacrificing pretty much everything else in the meantime. Soler is striking out a ridiculous 37.5% of the time so far this year, and his .227 average is directly correlated. A strikeout rate like that is not sustainable in the long run, and unless he switches to a more contact-focused approach, expect some incredible cold snaps from Soler this season.
