Jordan Walker Out On Wednesday
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals rookie outfielder Jordan Walker is taking a seat on Wednesday as the team faces the visiting Houston Astros. Walker isn't being benched because he's not producing. The 21-year-old rookie phenom is currently riding a 16-game hitting streak in which he's gone 21-for-55 (.382) with four home runs, three doubles, nine RBI, a stolen base and eight runs scored in 63 trips to the plate. Walker needs to be started in all lineups when he's on the field, as he's hitting a cool .303 (43-for-142) with six homers, 20 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 40 MLB games. Brendan Donovan is starting in left field and hitting leadoff, while Alec Burleson is the designated hitter and batting seventh against Astros right-hander Cristian Javier on Wednesday.
